MVC with Entrapment / Stand-by at Sta. 27 - Summit Bridge Rd. @ Marl Pit Rd.

While the CHC was providing a pre-arranged engine stand-by to Middletown (Sta. 1 & 27) crews were dispatched to a reported serious MVC with entrapment at 301 & Marl Pit Rd. Also responding was Quint 45 who was also on stand-by also Station 1. Crews arrived to find a 2 vehicle head-on MVC with the driver of both vehicles heavily trapped, and one driver in cardiac arrest. The crew from 44-3 was assigned the driver of the small car who was heavily entrapped. Crews stablized the vehicle and then went to work with the combo tool from E-3 and began extrication. Upon arrival of 1-6 and R27 additional crews assisted with the extrication. Crews removed both drivers side doors, the B-post on the drivers side, made relief cuts in both the A & B posts on the passengers side, and rolled the dash off the drivers legs. Once all extrication was complete crews assisted ALS & BLS with removing the pt from the car and taking her to awaiting Trooper 4 for transport to CER. Crews remained on scene and assisted with clean-up. Chief Robert Davis, 45-15 had command of the scene, and 44-20(Hufford) was extrication officer for rescue operation of the small vehicle. Once crews cleared the scene they went back to Sta. 27 and continued to cover their district until 2000.
