Unattended cooking in multi-residential complex - 803 Providence Dr., Governors Place Townhouses

At 1801 the CHC was alerted for a reported structure fire in the Governors Place Townhouses at 803 Providence Dr. Engine 44-4 was already on radio at the Smyrna National Night Out and responded immediately with a full crew, followed shortly by E44-2, & L44. Upon arrival crews found a light smoke condition coming from the residence with a report of unattended cooking which was extinguished with a fire extinguisher upon arrival. Crews found moderate smoke conditions throughout the residence, and the fire already extinguished. Crews set up PPV and remained on scene until the residence was clear. Scene was TOT the homeowner and maintenance. Units responding: E44-4, E44-2, L44, SPD, and 44 Fire Police. 2nd Asst. Chief Dave Neeld had command.
