Passing of Past President Anthony B. Payne - Smyrna, DE

The CHC is saddened to announce the passing of Life Member and Past President Anthony B. Payne, Tony was 56 years old. Tony was a Life Member and held many offices during his membership including, President in 2001, Captain in 1994 & 1995, Lieutenant in 1988 & 1992, 8 years on the Board of Directors, fire recorder, trustee, and assistant trustee. Tony also won the Calvin E. Foxwell Memorial Award for the most active member obtaining the most points in a year 3 different times, and was on his way to his 4th this year. Tony could always be seen around the firehouse and helping whenever needed. Tony will be greatly missed for sure. Please keep Tony's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Services are as follows: Viewing- Friday Dec. 18th from 7-9pm at Matthews & Bryson Funeral Home on Commerce St. in Smyrna. Funeral- Saturday Dec. 19th at the Smyrna Fire House. Another viewing will be from 10-11am, with services to follow afterwards. More information will be available as it becomes available.
