MVC - Route 1 SB a/o Twin Willows Road

At 0256, the CHC and Ambulance 64 were dispatched to an MVC on Route 1 Southbound  in the area of Twin Willows Road. 44-2 under the command of 44-17 (Thompson) responded within minutes. 44-2 arrived on scene and found one pick-up truck and two tractor trailers off of the roadway. A64 advised that one patient had fled the scene on foot. Crews worked to secure the vehicles. It was then determined that one of the saddle tanks on one of the tractor trailers had been punctured during the accident and had leaked the entirety of its contents. DNREC was requested to the scene to assist with the clean-up and containment of the fuel spill. Trooper 4 assisted with searching for the subject. Route 1 Southbound was closed at Exit 114 for approximately 3 hours.
