Charles "Chucky" Busker Jr. - Smyrna

On July 4th the Citizens' Hose Company No. 1 Inc. lost life member Charles L Busker Jr., or better known to many as Chuck or Chucky.  Charles passed away at home after a brief battle with a severe illness, he was 54 years old.   He joined the CHC on November 4, 1968 as a school probational member, and became a full member on November 2, 1970.   During his time as an active member of the CHC he attended 770 alarms, and held numerous offices.  Administratively he held the office of Fire Inspector, Fire Recorder, and was on the Board of Trustees.   He also held the fire line office as a Lieutenant in 1975.  On January 6, 1986 he was presented with his gold badge, and blue membership card as a life member of the CHC.  Most recently Charles was an active member of the Harrington Vol Fire company as a fire policeman, 50-35.   Funeral services for Charles were held in Harrington on Sun July 8th, and he was laid to rest with a full firemans funeral.   Chucky will be remembered for many years to come by all those who were friends with him, fought fire with him, or just knew him from being around the firehouse.  The CHC would like to extend its thoughts and prayers to his family, and also the members of Sta. 50.
