Two subjects severly burned in trailer fire with explosion - 62 Juniper Ct., Holly Hills Mobile Home Park

On Thursday Jan 3rd @ 0241 the CHC was dispatched to a reported trailer fire with an explosion. Medic 66 who was in the area was 10-2 within minutes and reported a trailer fully involved with 2 subjects severely burned. E44-2 under command of 44-15 arrived a couple minutes later and found a single wide trailer with heavy fire throughout. Crews from 44-2 & 44-3 began extinguishment and protection of the 2 exposures. A supply line was layed and upon its 10-2 Tanker 44 established water supply into the development. Crews from R-44 & 44-4 also assisted with overhaul and extinguishment. While fire suppression was going on Medics 66, 65, & 67 were all busy with pt care of the two residents from the trailer. Both residents were treated on scene, and transported to the LZ by A-64 & A-43 for transport to Chester Crozier Burn Center by DSP Trooper 2 & 4. The elder of the two victims sustained severe burns over a large majority of his body, while the younger victim sustained severe burns to his lower extremities. 44-15 placed the scene under control and all units were 10-7 @ 0555. Sta. 44 units were inservice for 3 hrs & 14 min, and had 50 members respond. OIC was Chief John L Embert. Units responding: E44-2, 44-3, 44-4, R-44, T-44, A-64, A-43, Medic 65, 66, 67, DSP Trooper 2 & 4, Smyrna PD, and the DSFMO. The fire is still currently being investigated by the DSFMO to determine the cause.
