Head-on with rollover and entrapment - 1300 Block of Paddock Rd.

At 1939 units were dispatched to the 1300 block of Paddock Rd. for a MVC with a rollover and subject trapped, multiple victims. Engine 44-4 responded within 1 mintue with a full crew under command of 44-15. Upon 10-2 a 2 vehicle accident was found, with both vehicle in a ditch, and one on its roof with a male subject trapped inside. R-44 arrived shortly after and crews from both units stabilized the truck with cribbing, removed the windows, and began extrication. The drivers door was removed to allow access to pull the driver out. Extrication was complete within 8 minutes. Pt was removed from the truck and turned over to A-43 and KM-6. During the extrication process crews from 44-0 and R-44 assisted B-26 with the driver of the van, and her two dogs who were also injured in the accident. The driver of the truck was flown to CER by Trooper 4 with serious but stable injuries, and the driver of the van was taken to KGH by B-26 with minor injuries. Both dogs were picked up by a family member and taken to a vet. R-44 remained on scene to assist DSP with lighting. OIC was Chief John L. Embert III. Units were in service for 51 minutes, and 52 members responded.
Units responding: E44-4, R-44, 44-0, B-43, B-26, KM-6, KM-5, Trooper 4, DSP and DelDot. A-24 & M5B also responded but were cancelled.
While en-route back to the station, R-44 along with 44-4 handled a washdown at the Smyrna Mart Shopping Center.
