Stand-by for Chestertown Fire Co. - Chestertown MD
Wednesday, June 17, 2009

A crew of 8 stood by at Sta. 6 from 0600-1900 while thier members attended and competed in the Annual Maryland State Firemans Convention and Parade in Ocean City. Along with E44-4, Quint 45, and 51-3 also stood by with us. Again this year no alarms were dispatched during our stand-by time, but a good time was had by all. The highlight of the day had to be the wiffle ball game held on the front apron of the station. A team of Sta. 44 members and FF Carrow from Sta. 45 competed against the crew from Sta 51 in an intense game. The game was called on the account of rain, but is was already a wash out anyway with the 44/45 team winning 34-11. It appears this is only the beginning of a new annual tradition for the stand-by crews. The officers and members of the CHC would like to congratulate the Chestertown Fire Co. for thier excellent showing they put on at the parade, and congratulate them on the numerous awards and trophies they recieved. Also the stand-by crew wishes to say thank you for the hospitality extended to them during thier stay at the station.
