MVC with rollover - Rt. 13 @ Hickory Ridge Rd.

At 0911 the CHC along with Amb. 64, KM-6, and Trooper 4 were dispatched to a reported MVC with a rollover, pt reported trapped. E44-4 responded shortly after under command of 44-18(Hankins). While en-route 44-4 was advised that 55-18 was on-scene reporting no entrapment, but the pt was still inside the vehicle. At 0922 E44-4 went on scene, and found conditions as reported. After speaking with an EMS crews, the decision was made to remove the pt through the rear hatch area to cause less injury. The crews from 44-4 and R-44 stabilized the vehicle using step cribbing, wedges, and the Junkyard Dog stabilizers. Once stabilization was complete, crews were able to gain better access to the pt, immobilize and then remove her through the rear hatch. 44-18 placed the scene under control @ 0935. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to KGH by A & B 64. 44 units cleared the scene, and were back in quarters at 0950. OIC was Capt. Isaac J. Hankins, and the CHC had 30 men in service for 39 minutes.
