DVFA Parade 2009 - Dover DE

The CHC once again brought the Governors Cup home to where it belongs at this years DVFA Conference Parade. The company brought home 10 trophies, with 8 being for first place in its respective category. In total the company and band had almost 100 members in uniform either on the street marching or riding in apparatus. Awards received: Governors' Cup for best appearing marching unit with 20 or more men in line. Best overall piece of apparatus for Ladder 44 Best Appearing Rescue for Rescue 44 Best Appearing Tanker for Tanker 44 Best Appearing Brush/Field unit for 44-0 2nd Best Appearing Pumper/Resuce for E44-4 3rd Best Appearing Motorized Antique for 44-1 or "Old Mom" Best Appearing Fire Co. Color Guard Best Appearing Non School Band Best Appearing Preteen Fire Prev. Queen, Callie Keen Congratulations to all the other companies who attended, competed, and recieved awards. Also special thanks to the Odessa Fire Company for the class act that they are by stopping by and congratulating the company on our win, and participating in the celebrations in Smyrna. The CHC would like to thank the following companies for thier help in standing by and covering our district all day while the company was at the parade: Hacks Point VFC, Queen Anne's Hillsboro, Chestertown VFC, and the Sudlersville VFC. A special thanks also to Sudlersville for supplying a crew to stay over night and provide additional coverage. All the officers and members would also like to again thank thier families for the sacrifices they made to allow us to be up here at the station helping with clean-up, marching practices, and the endless hours preparing for convention.
