On Saturday, May 12th, 2012, the Citizens' Hose Company held our 125th Anniversary Parade. The parade was originally scheduled for the Fall of 2011 but was postponed due to weather. The rescheduled date turned out to be a perfect day and it was great to see everyone come out to help celebrate 125 years of volunteer fire service in the town of Smyrna. Companies from Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey were in attendance as well as bands from Philadelphia, PA to Norfolk, VA. Several of our oldest living members were seated on the reviewing stand to take in the events. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and came out to celebrate. The committe would like to thank the follwing organizations for their help and cooperation in making the day a success: The Town of Smyrna, Smyrna PD, Kent County Fire Police, Smyrna-Clayton Rotary Club, Smyrna School District, Town of Middletown, and the Smyrna-Clayton 4th of July Association. Also a thank you to the Leipsic and Sudlersville Fire Companies for covering our district throughout the day.
