The Officers and Members of the Citizens' Hose Company regret to announce the passing of Past President Gordon Miller.
Gordon R. Miller, age 85 of Smyrna, DE, passed away on Friday, July 13, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Miller was born in Worcester, NY, on July 28, 1926. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy, and, upon his return, graduated from Rome Veterans College in Utica, NY. Mr. Miller was employed as a design engineer by Clark Refrigeration for 42 years in Delaware, Michigan, and Indiana. He was also a past president and lifetime member of Citizens Hose Company in Smyrna.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Scofield Miller, his daughters, Dawn J. Miller and Diane M. Dolan, grandsons Aaron Nichols, Jesse Nichols, Bryan Dolan and Kyle Dolan, and brothers Harold D. Miller and Vincent E. Miller.
A visitation with family and friends will be held at Matthews Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, on Saturday, July 21, from 11:00 - 12:30. All are invited to celebrate Mr. Miller's life with refreshments at Citizens Hose Company immediately following the visitation. Burial will be held privately in Worcester, NY.
