Ladder Company asst. Sta. 27 - 728 Idlewyld Dr. Middletown

At 10:55am CHC was dispatched for a Ladder Company asst. to Middletown on the 1St alarm assignment for a working house fire at 728 Idlewyld Dr. Parkside Development. Ladder 44 made the responds within minutes followed shortly by 44-3. Rescue 27 was the first unit to arrive on scene and give a report of a two story single family dwelling with heavy fire showing and extension into a neighboring residence, and told Fireboard to upgrade to a 2nd alarm assignment. On the arriver of Ladder 44, command told them to set the ladder in front of the resident for a master stream operation. Ladder 44 along with Tower 27 flowed their master streams for some time to knock down the bulk of the fire. Once bulk of the fire was knocked, the crew from Ladder 44 and 44-3 helped to find hot spots, overhaul of both houses and other fire ground duties that was needed by Command. Both units were back in station at 2:18pm. Several other houses received radiant heat damage. Sta. 27 Deputy 1 Shawn Mullen had Idlewyld Dr. Command. Photos are from www.vhc27.com
