Marsh Fire - 6373 Hay Point Landing Rd

Station 44 was dispatched to the Area of 6373 Hay point Landing Road for a Large field fire. 44-0 made the response under command of 44-21 (Neeld) and a crew of 5. While responding Kent Center advised 44-0 that they received a call advising a large area of marsh and field was on fire and that the RP would meet them in the area. With This report 44-21 requested the station to run an extra Engine as well as the Ranger. 44-0 arrived on scene and was advised by the RP of suspicious activity in the area just prior to the fire starting. 44-21 requested a Fire marshal make a response. 44-0 made access to the fire down a rock driveway. The Fire was found approx. ½ mile off of the road way. A Large area of field was found to be burning plus a Duck blind and Deer Stand. 44-4 arrived on scene and was instructed by command to park in a side parking lot and send their crew. Upon 44-3’s arrival they were instructed to drive up to the area where 44-0 was parked and supply the brush truck. Crews from both Engines were placed in service. FM-13 arrived on scene. Tanker 44 arrived on scene and staged on the hard service. 44-10 along with the Ranger arrived on scene and the Ranger was placed in service in the field. Station 45 was placed on dual response for any additional responses in the district. 44-17 requested to command an additional crew to be sent into the field to relieve crews that were operating. 44-21 requested station 53 be dispatched for a Brush Truck assist. Scene was placed under control, holding 44 units and the 53 units responding. Brush 53 along with 53-8 arrived on scene and were told to stage with Brush 44-0 and Engine 44-3. Crews continued to operate with hitting hot spots. All units cleared and returned to station.
