Vehicle fire with brush fire - Rt. 1 a/o exit 114

At 1621 the CHC was dispatched for a reported car fire on Rt. 1 in the area of exit 114. E44-4 under command of 44-16(Jarrell) responded within minutes followed by E44-3 & Brush 44-0. While en-route Kent Center advised DSP was on scene and had a report of a pt with minor injuries and 64 was now being dispatched. Upon arrival crews found a small car with a fire in the engine compartment and undercarriage which had spread to the thick dry median area. Crew from E4 began extinguishing the car fire while the crew from E3 & 44-0 began to extinguish the grass fire. The occupant of the vehicle was evaluated by EMS crews and refused treatment and was turned back over to DSP. Crews were able to extinguish both in a short amount of time and all units cleared, turning the scene over to DSP. All 44 units returned to quarters.
