Ladder Co. Assist-Working House Fire - 30 Barnsley Ct., Parkers Run-Cheswold

At 1137 the CHC was dispatched for a ladder company to assist Sta. 43(Cheswold) on a reported working house fire in the Parkers Run development off Rt. 42. Within minutes L44 under command of 44-16(Hankins) and 44-3 under command of 44-17(Pappas) responded, both fully staffed. Prior to arrival command advised L44 to set up its aerial on arrival for ladder pipe operations. L44 arrived second to the scene and set up just behind E43-2. 44-16 and 2 others went in and assisted with suppresion/ventilation/searches. 44-16 was assigned interior operations. Once the ladder was set the crew from L44 and 44-3 assisted inside with suppresion activities untils crews were pulled out by command to place the ladder pipe in service. L44 flowed water for approximately 5 minutes and was able to extinguish the rest of the fire not able to knocked down by interior crews. Once crews were allowed back inside both crews continued to assist with suppression, and overhaul operations. 44 units were in service for 1 hour and 57 minutes and had a total of 41 members respond.
