Ladder & Tanker Co. Assist Cheswold, Working House Fire - 167 Main St., Cheswold

At 1015 CHC units were dispatched to assist Sta. 43(Cheswold) with a Ladder & Tanker Company on a reported working house fire just down from Sta. 43. Within minutes L44, T44, & E44-4 all responded to assist. Upon arrival of units 43-17 gave all units assignments. L44 was directed to perform Ladder company operation by throwing ground ladders around the perimeter of the house, and to place the aerial in service. The crew from L44 split in half and performed all theses tasks by placing several ground ladders around the house, and ventilating the roof with saws, and taking a hoseline up the ladder to assist with suppresion. The crew from E44-4 pulled a second handline of E43-2, and went inside and assisted with fire suppresion, and searches. Tanker 44 was placed into service to supply water to 43-2 for operations. The crews remained on scene for about 2 hours and assisted with overhaul operations after the fire was placed under control by 43 Command. All 44 units were back in quarters at 1243.

44 OIC was Capt. Easley Pierson Jr. 44 units were in service for 2 hours and 28 minutes. The CHC had 40 members respond.
