Appliance fire inside the structure - 379 Roberts Dr., Glenwood Development

AT 1004 the CHC was dispatched for a reported house fire at the above location. E44-2 under command of 44-16(Pappas) responded within minutes, shortly followed by L44 & 44-3. Upon arrival units found light smoke showing from the rear, with a moderate smoke condition inside the house. Crews were directed to the 2nd floor laundry room area by the homeowner who advised that there was a fire in the dryer. The crew immediately secured the power to the laundry room area which was in a closet area of a bedroom. The crew found a small fire inside the dryer which was quickly extinguised and no extension was found. 44-16 placed the scene under control and crews remained on scene a little while longer to ventilate the house, and remove the dryer from the residence. All 44 units were in quarters at 1042. Units responding: E44-2, L44, E44-3. The CHC had 34 members respond and units were in service for 38 minutes. OIC was 1st Asst. Chief Jay Pappas.
