Woods Fire - Wooded area behind 107 Lawn Dr., Smyrna Garden Apts.

At 2145 the CHC was dispatched for a field fire in the area of the field behind 107 Lawn Dr., Smyrna Garden Apts. 44-0 under command of 44-19(Rutledge) responded within minutes followed shortly by 44-4. Upon arrival crews were directed to a small wooded area a couple hundred yards behind the complex. 44-0 had to travel through the fields to get to the wooded area. There crews found a small "bonfire" area that juveniles had set up and were burning trash and debris. The area was set up as a small camp with chairs, and couches around the burn pile. The fire was quickly extinguished by the crew from 44-0. The scene was quickly placed under control and all units returned. This is the second incident in 1 week in this wooded area where fires were seen by neighbor and then kids running away upon FD arrival. Units responding: 44-0, 44-4, & SPD CHC units were in service for 35 minutes, and 32 members responded to assist. OIC was Capt. Jonathon Rutledge.
