MVC with subject trapped - Rt. 13 SB @ Joe Goldsborough Rd.

At 1745 the CHC along with Amb. 64 was dispatched to a MVC at the intersection of DuPont Highway and Joe Goldsborough Road. Within minutes E44-4 responded under the command of 44-20 (Hansen). R44 and 44-0 responded shortly thereafter. EMS units arrived prior to CHC units and began patient care. ALS was requested by the BLS crews, and KM6 was dispatched. Upon arrival of 44-4, the EMS crews advised that one patient from the silver car needed to be extricated. This vehicle was located on top of a Verizon phone line junction box and on guide wires for nearby telephone poles. The crew from 44-4 began stabilization of the vehicle using the Junk-Yard Dogs. The crew from R44 assisted the crews from 44-4 in vehicle stabilization and patient extrication. The crew from 44-0 secured the battery on the Tahoe and applied oil-dry to the roadway. The patient was extricated within 10 minutes after the drivers door was removed. A total of 2 patients were transported to KGH by A&B64 with KM6. The scene was placed under control and then turned over to DSP. All 44 units cleared and were back in quarters at 1824.

CHC units were in service for 39 minutes, and a total of 41 members responded to assist. OIC was Lt. Jason Hansen.
