Tropical Cyclone Ophelia
Friday, September 22, 2023

SEPT 22ND 1515

According to US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly, we are expected to see some severe weather this weekend. Please make sure you are regularly checking the weather and planning accordingly. If you have not signed up for the Delaware Emergency Notification System; we highly recommend it for the most up-to-date information on Tropical Cyclone Ophelia.  The threat and confidence of impacts from the weekend coastal storm have increased. Widespread coastal flooding, strong to damaging winds, and locally heavy rain are expected. This storm is expected to bring potentially significant impacts to coastal portions of New Jersey and Delaware. People with interests near the coast should monitor the forecast closely.

Not only is there a risk of rain and flooding - making it dangerous to be outdoors - but there are also risks associated with strong winds.  So stay safe, listen to your local weather stations, and don't take risks.

Citizen’s that live in and around flood prone areas such as Woodland Beach are encouraged to move inland while the storm passes through.  The weather service is already predicting extremely high tides for our costal residents.  Please keep an eye on DEMA’s (Delaware Emergency Management Agency) website and social media accounts.

Stay Safe!!
