We Remember Tommy Lewis

Wayne Thomas Lewis, age 65 of Felton, DE passed away on Tuesday May 20, 2025, at his late residence. He was born on August 25, 1959, son of William Isaac and Betty Cox Lewis.
Tommy, as many called him, was a 1978 graduate of Smyrna High School who went on to be a long and short haul truck driver his entire life since he was 18 years old. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid waterfowl hunter and longtime member of the Kent County Ducks Unlimited. His devotion to his community was exemplified by his service to the Citizens Hose Company # 1 of Smyrna where he was a life member. However, the most important thing to him was being around his family and friends and having a good time.
He is survived by his daughter Rebekah R. Lewis of Felton; his siblings Ricky W. Lewis and wife Ethel and Sandra Shane and her deceased husband Doug, both of Clayton, DE; nephew Ricky Lewis and wife Andrea of Greenwood, DE; niece Melissa Silves and husband Jessie of Smyrna, DE; stepson William Yoder and wife Susan of Dover, DE and many grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a long-time best friend Annmarie Graff Wright of South Carolina, close friend Greg Parsell of Smyrna and all of his fellow fire company brothers who were his second family.
He was also predeceased by two sons, William Thomas Lewis in 1990 and Wayne Thomas Lewis Jr. in 2015 and his niece Tina Issacs and nephew Mike Shane.
Funeral services with firefighter honors will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11 AM, at the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna, DE where a viewing will begin at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, DE.
