MVC with Entrapment while Covering Sta. 27 - 1700 Block Choptank Rd., Middletown, DE

While on a cover-up assignment to Sta. 27 for thier banquet, the crew from E44-4 made the response to a MVC with entrapment on Choptank Rd. The crew found a serious head-on MVC with one subject trapped inside one of the vehicles. The crew quickly stabilized the vehicle, and began extrication of the trapped driver. The driver was extricated within less than 10 minutes and TOT awaiting EMS units for transport to CER as a trauma alert. The crew from E4 was also assisted by crews from R1 & R27 who responded shortly after. While they were covering up the crew also responded to a transformer on fire. The crew was at Sta. 27 from about 1700-2400. The crew consisted of 2nd Asst. Chief Brian Jarrell, Driver Memphis Evans, FF/Past Chief Tate Coulbourne, FF/Past Chief Curtis Heath, FF Grant Nash, FF Chris Merrill, FF Ernie Kulhanek, and FF David Neeld.
