Water Rescue - Delaware Bay off of Woodland Beach

Stations 44 and 53 were dispatched to the above location by Kent Center, for a water craft distress (pri. 1). Just After alerting 44 and 53, Kent Center alerted Station 54 for the marine units. 44-10 with M44 made the response followed by Rescue 44. Kent Center advised units responding that operations were going to be on tac-7. Kent Center advised that there was an overturned vessel with 3 souls in the water. 44-22 asked for Amb. 64 to be started along with A-53 due to the report. 44 Marine units arrived at Woodland Beach, and utilized the outside dock. 44-22 assumed command. 44m2 made the response also. Kent Center advised that the original call came through Salem County 911 Center and advised that the Subjects were in the water and were in the area of buoy 4-L. 44 marine units went under way. Other Marine units that were responding were 54m3, 54m1, 53m1. Trooper 4 also made the response. Marine units advised that there were negative in the area of the 4-L Buoy. 44m1 advised Command that they were going to start a grid search. 44-22 asked Kent Center to contact New Castle Fire Board to Start Station 29 for the marine unit. Kent Center advised command that the Coast Guard was also responding. DART 1 also arrived on scene. Trooper 4 utilized DART 1 to fly with them in case the basket was needed. After searches were being done 53M1 advised Kent Center that the Vessel was found approx. ½ mile north of Collins beach on the shore line. 54m3 advised that they were going to attempt to retrieve the subjects. Trooper 4 advised that they could use the Hoist basket. 54m3 advised that the helicopter was not needed. Marine units advised that DNREC wanted the subjects taken to the boat ramp at Collins Beach. Command advised Kent Center that EMS units were going to relocate to Collins Beach. All fire Units also relocated. Once at Collins Beach, subjects were taken on land by Marine police and Fire Dept. Personal. All Subjects advised that no EMS services were needed. Subjects were placed in A-53 to get out of the sun. Command placed the Scene under Control Holding Units. All units cleared and scene was turned over to DNREC. Command 44: 44-22 Lt. Eric Neeld
